The function of the powder feeder is to accurately feed the cladding powder into the molten pool according to the requirements of the processing technology, to ensure that the powder can be continuously, evenly and stably transported during the processing. The performance will directly affect the quality of the laser cladding layer. The development of laser cladding technology, it is also put forward higher requirements. According to the process characteristics and different powder types, the types of products that have been developed mainly include screw type, rotary disk type, scraper type, capillary type, drum type, electromagnetic vibration type, etc. Its working principles include gravity field, gas dynamics and mechanical mechanics.

 

In view of different process characteristics and powder types in combination, we adopt a scraper type, which is mainly composed of a powder hopper, rotary table, scraper, powder receiving hopper, etc. for storing powder. During operation, the powder flows from the powder hopper through the powder leakage hole to the rotary table by its own gravity and the pressure of current carrying gas. A scraper that is in close contact with the surface of the rotary table is fixed above the rotary table. When the rotary table rotates, the powder is continuously scraped down to the powder receiving hopper. Under the action of current carrying gas, it is sent to the laser processing area through the powder feeding pipe. The maximum size of powder feeding is determined by the rotating speed of the rotary table. By adjusting the rotating speed of the rotary table, the size of the powder feeding amount can be controlled. At the same time, the height of the powder bucket and the rotary table and the size of the powder leakage hole can be adjusted to achieve a wider range of powder feeding amounts. The scraper type is suitable for powder conveying with a particle diameter greater than 20um.
