A Powerful Tool for "Strengthening and Repairing" Mining Machinery Parts

In mining production, cutting picks and large mining hydraulic props are key mechanical components, and their performance and service life directly affect production efficiency. However, traditional these parts generally have problems such as poor wear resistance and short service life. The application of laser technology provides an effective solution to these problems.

Traditional Cutting Picks: Poor Wear Resistance and Short Service Life

As a vulnerable part of coal shearers that directly cut coal and rock, the failure of cutting picks mainly stems from wear failure, especially the wear of the matrix at the end of the cutting pick, which easily leads to the spalling of the alloy head. Domestic ordinary cutting picks have poor performance in terms of wear resistance and short service life, which not only increases the intensity of underground operations but also seriously reduces production efficiency.

Laser-Enhanced Cutting Picks: Soaring Hardness and Multiplied Service Life

After laser technology treatment, the performance of cutting picks has been significantly improved. After laser cladding, the average microhardness of the cutting pick reaches HV800, and the Rockwell hardness is 65HRC; the average microhardness of the laser-alloyed cutting pick is HV1099, and the Rockwell hardness is 70HRC; the average microhardness of the laser-quenched cutting pick is HV750, and the Rockwell hardness is 62HRC. Moreover, the coating formed by the laser cladding alloying process has a metallurgical bond with the matrix, with high bonding strength. Compared with ordinary cutting picks, the service life of laser-clad cutting picks is extended by 3-4 times, and that of surface-alloyed cutting picks is extended by 5-6 times.

Traditional Hydraulic Props: Vulnerable Plating Affecting Efficiency

Most domestic ordinary props adopt surface electroplating for rust and corrosion resistance, but the plating has poor wear resistance, with a service life of only 1-1.5 years. During use, the plating is prone to peeling and flaking, causing the emulsion to corrode the surface of the prop and thus affecting the use effect of the hydraulic support.

Laser-Enhanced Hydraulic Props: Improved Performance and Durability

Laser strengthening treatment has greatly improved the performance of hydraulic props, with the surface hardness of the substrate reaching HV410. The service life of the new laser-enhanced stainless steel prop is 5-6 times that of domestic props, and it has the prominent characteristics of advanced technology, high safety performance, and strong production capacity, effectively solving the drawbacks of traditional props.

Laser Technology: An Efficient Assistant for Mining Production

Laser technology, with its characteristics of highly concentrated energy and direction, can realize pollution-free operations in the atmospheric environment. It can form a high-hardness, crack-free high-performance coating on the surface of cheap metal materials, and form a metallurgical bond with the matrix, combining the toughness of metal with the excellent performance of the coating, thus innovating the production process. Its application reduces the time for parts replacement and maintenance, improves production efficiency, saves a lot of funds, has far-reaching significance for building a resource-saving society, and provides strong support for mining production.
